Two Cottingley Fairies photographs were recently put up for auction at Dominic Winter Auctioneers in Cirencester UK. They were expected to raise around two thousand pounds, but to the surprise of many (not FAE!) the pictures sold for more than £20,000!

The famous photographs were taken by Elsie Wright (aged 16) and her cousin Frances Griffiths (aged 9) in Cottingley, a small village near Bingley in Yorkshire in 1917.  Famously, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of Sherlock Holmes was convinced of the photographs authenticity.

FAE magazine has featured Chris Lynch, the daughter of Frances Griffiths several times. She shared true life stories of faery encounters in an EXCLUSIVE series… Fae also exclusively revealed a rare photograph which was hand-tinted for Edward Gardner and Conan Doyle in 1920. This was given to Christine Lynch by the son of Edward Gardner, and appeared in FAE magazine issue 15
