Lancashire is to hold the first Faerie Ball on Saturday 1st May.

The Ball is being organised by Sarah Duxbury and will also include a Faerie Market. Venue: Crofters Hotel in Cabus, near Garstang. Keep checking back for more news.

The House of Fairy Tales is to present an exhibition of more than 100 artworks at the Millenium Gallery, in St Ives, Cornwall.

The exhibition will explore folklore and mythology by leading artists. The exhibition opens on March 6th with a performance from American artist and musician William Fontaine

Fun, magic and nature comes to Holt Hall in Norfolk this May as the Fairyland Trust’s Fairy Fair returns.

The Fair will feature nine magical children’s workshops including: Magic Wands, Wings & Potions, Fairy Gardens, Crowns & Books, Wizard Shields, Wildflower Fairies and Witches’ Pets.

Other activities include, Post office, Storytelling, Pirate Fete, Trails to the Fairy Queen, Secret Dens, Fairy Houses, Cooking with Trolls, Live Music from Swervy World and The Rum Brothers, Puppet shows, Stilt Walkers plus Craft and Food stalls and much more.

World Fantasy Convention

The Courts of Faerie Masquerade Ball

Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Masonic Lodge of San Mateo. Waltz the night away among the fairies, pixies, goblins, redcaps, wizards, sorceresses, enchanted princesses, charming princes, intelligent cats, and Fairy Tale characters of every other description at the most magical ball of the season – when the Unseelie King and Queen of the Fae  honour May Day and resign their crowns for six months to the blessed Seelie King and Queen. Founded in 1983 by Coney Island USA, the Mermaid Parade celebrates the sand, sea, salt air and the beginning of summer. Participants dress in hand-made costumes as mermaids, Neptunes, various sea creatures, and the occasional wandering lighthouse. Each year, a celebrity King Neptune and Queen Mermaid rule over the proceedings, riding in the parade and assisting in the opening of the Ocean for the summer swimming season. Attending celebrities in the past have included David Byrne, Queen Latifah, Ron Kuby, Curtis Sliwa, Moby and Theo. The Parade is followed by the Mermaid Parade Ball. The 2010 Mermaid Parade has been confirmed for June 19th
